چکیده

The problem of fuel-optimal attitude maneuvering of a space vehicle (SV) with non-fixed time is considered. The state constraint related to the maintenance of artificial gravitation is imposed. This problem is especially important for long-time space missions. The attitude of the space vehicle is controlled by means of a pair of reactive engines which produce a single control torque with fixed direction in the body-fixed frame. An optimal solution is obtained in the class of trajectories belonging to “swinging mode” two-periodic sliding cycling regimes. The solution is found in analytical form and optimal synthesis is obtained. Mathematics Subject Classification (2000) 93C10 · 49L20 · 49N20

Six Dimensional Trajectory Solver

Many future space missions will require that proximity operations be accomplished reliably, precisely and efficiently without a pilot in the loop. This thesis examines one element of an autonomous proximity operations controller, the trajectory planner. The trajectory planner uses a modified gradient search to find a locally optimal trajectory from the initial state to the target state that doe...

TIME OPTIMAL SLEW MANEUVER OF MAGNETICALLY ACTUATED LEO SATELLITES

Conventional magnetic attitude control methodologies require several orbital periods to accomplish the required attitude maneuvers due to the existence of an uncontrollable axis, namely the local Earth’s magnetic field vector. Since in some attitude maneuver missions the elapsed time is of critical importance, those time-consuming controllers are not satisfactory and we need a much faster contr...

Optimal Control Techniques for Spacecraft Attitude Maneuvers

The capability of attitude maneuvers and attitude tracking for spacecrafts is required in the current sophisticated space missions. In short, it is to obtain command requirements and attitude orientation after some form of control. With the development of space missions, the ability of rapid and energy-saved large-angle attitude maneuvers is actively expected. And the high requirements for the ...

Quaternion-based Finite-time Sliding Mode Controller Design for Attitude Tracking of a Rigid Spacecraft during High-thrust Orbital Maneuver in the Presence of Disturbance Torques

In this paper, a quaternion-based finite-time sliding mode attitude controller is designed for a spacecraft performing high-thrust orbital maneuvers, with cold gas thrusters as its actuators. The proposed controller results are compared with those of a quaternion feedback controller developed for the linearized spacecraft dynamics, in terms of settling time, steady-state error, number of thrust...

High-Performance Robust Three-Axis Finite-Time Attitude Control Approach Incorporating Quaternion Based Estimation Scheme to Overactuated Spacecraft

With a focus on investigations in the area of overactuated spacecraft, a new high-performance robust three-axis finite-time attitude control approach, which is organized in connection with the quaternion based estimation scheme is proposed in the present research with respect to state-of-the-art. The approach proposed here is realized based upon double closed loops to deal with the angular rate...
